Bayelsa Athletics Association celebrates a day of meeting for boys and girls under-15

—Malala, Amalala emerges to the fastest sprinters

Before the National Youth Games, the Athletics Association of the State of Bayelsa has organized a one -day test for children of 15 children to select athletes to represent the State at the party.

More than two hundred aspiring athletes from the entire State participated in the meeting held within the main bowl of Siasia Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

Ebimoboere Eberiye Christopher and Godfrey Amalala were crowned as the fastest girl and boy in the competition.

The one -day meeting presented follow -up events of 100 meters, 400 m, 800m and 1500m, as well as bullet launch, long jump and height jump for field events and demonstration of 100 meters of obstacles.

In the 100 -meter girls contest, a young sensation of Sprint, Ebimoboere Eberiye Christopher, who dusted to other contestants, marking a time of 12.52 seconds to win the DASH said that his goal was to continue winning national and international competitions.

In second place was Paebi Gabriel, who registered 12.65 seconds, while Emmanuela Iga finished third in 13.42 seconds.

For the 100 -meter race of the children, Godfrey Amalala registered a time of 11.67 seconds to emerge winner, surpassing Ebimotimi Peretimi, which ended second in 11.96 seconds, while Sinivie Demand was third in 12.15 seconds.

In other events, Sunshine Alex won the girls 400 meters in 1.07.22 seconds when Sinivie Deme took gold in the category of boys in 56.68 seconds.

The success Okechi won the race of 1500 meters of children when the innocent victory emerged winner in the competition of girls.

For field events, Chidera Uzubuenyi was the best in the length of the children, while Paebi Gabriel took the girls.

Boys High Jump Gold went to Godfrey Amalala with Tolomere Moisés ensuring the girls’ contest.

Joseph Justice won the first prize in the boys launch of the children, while Mieneseigha Divine won in the girls category.

The vice president of the Bayelsa Athletics Association, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe, said that the performance of young athletes in the meeting of one day was indicative of positive things to come for sport in the state.

The selected athletes in the one -day test will fly the flag of Bayels State in the ninth national youth games scheduled for Asaba, State of Delta from August 26 to September 6, 2025.
