The Center for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos (Cedhul) proudly announces its partnership with Africa Trashumanists to host live events for the long -awaited artificial short film festival, which will be held from 21 to 23 November 2025.
The Festival, the themed “African visions of the African future”, is the first of its kind to highlight the short films created by the AI by African and creative filmmakers of the diaspora. Through this revolutionary collaboration, Cedhul will act as the main office for live projections, panel discussions, seminars and networking events designed to explore how emerging technologies are remodeling the cultural and creative panorama of Africa.
“We are excited to collaborate with Africa transhumanists to give life to this important conversation,” said Professor Tunde Ope-Davies, director of Cedhul, adding that “the intersection of humanities, artificial intelligence and African narration represents an exciting frontier and we are proud to help favor this dialogue here in Lagos.”
As part of his commitment, Cedhul will provide access to cutting -edge screening structures, will promote the festival through his networks and work closely with Africa transhumanists to guide public commitment and media coverage.
The Festival aspires to attract the main filmmakers, technologists, students and thinkers from all over the continent and all over the world.
Participants will experience screenings of films generated by the AI, will participate in interactive discussions and engage with pioneering ideas on the future of African creativity.
