Dangote Refinery reduces Jet Fuel Price to N1,650

Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced a reduction in the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1) by N100 from N1,750 to N1,650.

The move announced on Monday aims to reduce cost pressure on airlines and ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies across the country.

This is in addition to a 30-day interest-free credit facility backed by a bank guarantee (BG) for marketers and airline operators as well as a shift from a dollar-denominated pricing structure to a naira-based model.

This intervention comes amid growing concerns over the rising operational costs faced by domestic airlines, where aviation fuel accounts for the majority of airline expenses. Industry stakeholders have repeatedly warned that the rising price of the Jet A1 is placing enormous financial pressure on operators and threatening the sustainability of flight operations.

It is hoped that the refinery’s decision will provide relief to aviation operators by reducing fuel procurement costs, increasing operational stability, and supporting efforts to moderate airline ticket prices.
