Nigerian international striker Akor Adams’ decision to move to LaLiga side Sevilla, the newly promoted Venezia of the Italian Serie A, was made possible by hip hop icon Drake’s recent takeover of the club.
Drake acquired a significant minority stake in Venezia FC in the summer of 2024 through an investment group called APEX Capital.
His initial involvement helped save the club financially from bankruptcy and later facilitated a massive €100 million fundraising led by sports executives Tim Leiweke and Francesca Bodie.
Adams is seen as the first step in making people aware of the club, and we can exclusively reveal that he will earn almost three times his current salary when his €16m transfer becomes official.
Their acquisition will be followed by other major signings before the close of the current summer transfer window, and the club are keen to follow in Como’s footsteps by breaking new ground as a newly promoted team.
