Fani-Kayode dissects ADC convention, labels it ‘Destructive Clown Association’

Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation and Ambassador to Germany, Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over the party’s national convention held in Abuja recently by one of the party factions.

The former minister lashed out at the individuals at the event by giving them descriptions and expressing his thoughts on how they looked and acted.

Fani-Kayode in a post on his X account on Friday described the group as ‘Destructive Clown Association’.

He wrote: “I watched a faction of the ADC conduct what they described as their party’s Convention a few days ago and it was very sad.

“I saw crowded halls filled with hot, sweaty men and women, and most of them looked tired, tired and malnourished.
“They wore orange hats and used pamphlets and brochures to fan themselves because the building did not have a functioning air conditioning system.

“They were sweating profusely, arguing loudly with each other, getting into fisticuffs & the moment one of their older leaders came on stage, grabbed a microphone and shouted “APC” at the top of his voice, after which he suddenly remembered that he had left the APC years before & that he was actually taking part in the ADC Convention!

“It was clear dementia and cognitive dissonance had set in and his brain was no longer functioning as it once did.

“Silence fell over the crowd and one man, unable to contain his anger, shouted loudly for everyone to hear that the embattled and confused elder should ask God for forgiveness for his unforgivable carelessness.

“I actually feel sorry for the elders because anyone can make mistakes.

“Nonetheless, his embarrassment and embarrassment were enormous and in an attempt to redeem himself and lighten the mood, he told the shocked and shocked audience that he was sorry for blurting out the ruling party’s initials instead of theirs, and that he needed to “take a laxative.”

“After him, a strange-looking old man appeared on stage, looking badly beaten by the rigors of life, very unkempt and apparently in dire need of medical attention.

“His clothes were very wrinkled, his hat was worn and faded, it had holes in it, and his sandals were peeling on all sides.

“He dresses like someone who hasn’t bought new clothes in ten years.

“While on stage he grabbed the microphone & shouted in excellent English & with incredible power, confidence & arrogance that always comes before a hard fall that “even if we put down the corpses we will beat Tinubu in 2027”.

“This is an interesting and rare display of what is commonly referred to as “Dutch courage”: that is the courage often associated with drunken sailors & those who have had too much to drink & are heavily & persistently drunk.

“There is no doubt that this man is in trouble & needs help as he looks more like a tramp or a witch doctor than a politician.

“Whatever is bothering him, I wish him well & will keep him in my prayers.

“Another strange dimension of it all was watching a mature bearded man on stage with a pot belly (which made him look pregnant) wearing what looked like a woman’s beige skirt over beautiful beige trousers while wearing sunglasses to cover his eyes.

“Some called it a “bold fashion statement” while others said it was an expression of her non-binary status and gender fluidity.

“Any way of wearing men’s trousers and women’s skirts simultaneously at a factional party Convention or anywhere else is something new and something few of us have ever witnessed in a political gathering. I think times have changed.

“Forgive me for saying so, but this is indeed a strange collection of confused, careless, hopeless, stubborn, quarrelsome, and in some cases senile past actors who have long lost their charm, charm, and spirit and have no purpose, unity, or direction.

“Is it any wonder they call them the ‘Destructive Clown Association’.

“If that is the best they can do then President Tinubu will have won the 2027 elections. By 12.00 noon everything will be over.

“What we witnessed was more a gathering of hungry, ragged, desperate and long-rejected souls yearning for a return to power than a Convention of a legitimate and serious political party.

“Mr President rightly described their convention as a “street Convention”. What he failed to add was that this was a street Convention made up of bums, freelancers and nomads.

“The main thing is?

“The ADC isn’t going anywhere!”
