Finally! Kelechi Iheanacho wins the first league title

Celtic won the league title on the final day of the season after defeating Heart of Midlothian 3-1 in a dramatic match.

Before the match, Celtic needed a win to secure the title, while Hearts only needed a draw to become champions.

Hearts looked set to frustrate Celtic after taking the lead in the 43rd minute when Lawrence Shankland headed the ball into the net from a corner.

Just two minutes later, Celtic were awarded a highly controversial penalty after Alexandros Kyziridis was deemed to have handled the ball inside the area, despite his hand appearing to be close to his body.

Arne Engels stepped up and converted the penalty to tie the score.

It was the second game in a row in which Celtic were awarded a controversial penalty decision.

In their previous match against Motherwell, Celtic were awarded a penalty in the last minute which also sparked debate: Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho scored from the penalty spot.

On Saturday, Celtic continued to push forward in search of the winning goal and finally found the breakthrough late in the match.

In the 87th minute, Daizen Maeda scored to put Celtic ahead, but the goal immediately sparked more controversy as Callum Osmand appeared to be in an offside position.

However, the VAR gave the green light and declared the goal onside.

In added time, Osmand added another goal to seal a 3-1 victory and confirm Celtic as league champions.
