Former Bayelsa Sports Commissioner Opukiri Jones-Ere has been elected president of the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation
Former Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sports, Opukiri Jones-Ere, has been elected as the new president of the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation.

Speaking yesterday shortly after his election, the sports technocrat expressed gratitude to the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC), especially Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olopade, for ensuring a level playing field for all candidates and for conducting a peaceful and credible electoral process.

Opukiri also thanked the delegates for the trust placed in him through their vote.

He assured members of the federation and stakeholders that he would justify the trust reposed in him by working tirelessly to take amputee football in Nigeria to greater heights.

The newly elected president underlined his commitment to developing the sport, improving player welfare and creating more opportunities for athletes with disabilities to excel at both national and international levels.
