Group L: Croatia beats Ghana 2-1 in the final

Ghana came into their final Group L match against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia already in a strong position, but needed a result to solidify their advancement. Croatia, however, posed a determined challenge.

Croatia took the lead thanks to Luka Sucic, but Ghana equalized to make it 1-1.

In the 83rd minute, Nikola Vlašić headed the winning goal after a corner from Luka Modrić, securing Croatia’s 2-1 victory.

Ghana pressed until the final whistle but could not find an equalizer.

Croatia: Advanced as runner-up (6 points).

Group J: Algeria and Austria play a six-goal thriller (3-3 draw)

In Kansas City, Algeria faced Austria in a high-stakes match in which both teams had hopes of advancing in the game. The match generated excitement from start to finish.

Austria opened the scoring through Marcel Sabitzer. Algeria responded strongly, with goals from Rafik Belghali and two from Riyad Mahrez, including one in the 90+3 minute.

Austria: Runner-up (4 points).
Algeria: 4 points (1W-1D-1L, GD -2) – Advanced as one of the best third-place finishers.
Jordan: Deleted.

The draw was enough for Algeria and Austria to advance, sending Algeria to the round of 16.

Algeria will face Switzerland, who finished first in Group B, in the round of 32.
