Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped the Local Secretary of Kibiya Local Government of Kano State, Alhaji Hamza Durya.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, confirmed the incident to journalists on Saturday in Kano.
He said anti-kidnapping troops from the Command, Regional Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPO) had been fully deployed to rescue the victims.
The CP added that the victim was abducted at his residence at Durya village in Kibiya Local Government Area of the state and all hands were on to rescue him safely.
He appealed to citizens, especially rural residents, to volunteer credible information to help deploy rescue operations.
