In a powerful demonstration of shared commitment to the heritage and the next generation, the general director of the ARUNA ARUNA Francesca Maria Gujral and the president of the factory of San Pietro in the Vatican, his cardinal eminence Mauro Gambetti, has signed a reference memorandum for understanding (Mou) to launch a new strategic partnership rooted in the field of conservation, masters in the field of rediction.
This agreement lays the foundations for collaborative projects and joint initiatives for development of the skills focused on the restoration, conservation and sustainable care of the cultural heritage, with particular attention to the enhancement of crafts’ skills.
In the center there is a commitment to enhance local skills, the safeguarding of the rich African heritage and the creation of socio-economic opportunities for young people through the development of skills.

Already on the horizon for this partnership is a three -year transformative program, generously supported by the Italian government through the General Management for the cooperation of the development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international cooperation.
The initiative will offer an engaging training opportunities for African craftsmen and craftsmen, drawing on over five centuries of knowledge and craftsmanship safeguarded at the Fabrida di San Pietro.
Using a waterfall approach for the construction of capacity, the participants combine the skills acquired in the Vatican with traditional knowledge from their countries, multiplying the impact through the exchange of knowledge within their wider communities. The institutions in Costa d’Avoire, Egypt, Kenya and Tunisia will guide this dynamic exchange.
The project is also in line with the largest Italian international cooperation strategies, including the Mattei plan, strengthening sustainable, equitable and mutually advantageous partnerships through the African content.
