The Imo State Football Association has invited football clubs across the state to register for this year’s State League competition as preparations for the new football season intensify.
All interested clubs are expected to complete registration at the FA Secretariat, with organizers anticipating nearly 100 teams for the grassroots competition, www.silvernews.com.ng reports.
The league, considered one of the premier talent discovery platforms in the state, has over the years produced several notable players who have made waves in the growing world of football.
Football stakeholders believe that the competition will also help re-establish the football ecosystem in Imo State through greater grassroots participation, talent development and community engagement.
The FA has also advised clubs seeking further information to contact the association’s secretary, Clifford, on 08037716056.
Officials expressed optimism that the competition will significantly help restore the lost glory of football in the state.
