The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced ad-hoc staff recruitment for the forthcoming Ekiti State gubernatorial election.
INEC announced on Sunday via X (formerly Twitter) that it has opened applications for personnel to assist in the conduct of the elections scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The vacant positions announced include Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO), Presiding Officer/Assistant Presiding Officer (PO/APO), Registration Area Center (RAC) Manager, and RATECH.
The commission urges eligible Nigerians to register via https://pres.inecnigeria.org.
He said, the application process started on Saturday, April 25 2026, and would close on Sunday, May 18 2026.

Regarding eligibility, INEC notes that for SPO, applicants “must be civil servants/civil servants at Grade Level 10–14 or Registration Area Officers/INEC staff not performing other duties (GL 10–14).”
For RAC managers, applicants must be principals or staff (GL 07 and above) at the school/institution/public building that hosts the RAC.
Candidates applying for PO and APO “must be serving corps members or penultimate students of federal/state tertiary institutions in Nigeria with IT knowledge, or MDA permanent staff with OND qualification or at GL 07–10, or INEC permanent staff at Grade Level 07 & 08, or former corps members (no later than 2023 i.e. 2023, 2024, 2025 & 2026).”
For RATECH, INEC said, “applicants for this category must have an IT background; must be INEC ICT (state & HQ) staff of the appropriate Commission and not engaged in any other duties.”
He added, “Applicants must not be members of political parties.
“Applicants must not demonstrate or express support for any candidate or party. Applicants must reside in the state of their choice, except RATECH.
“Returning applicants should apply based on the appropriate category that currently applies to them.”
