Kaduna: Zazzau emirate council dethrones village head

The Zazzau Emirate Council has dismissed the Village Head of Awai in Maigana District, Soba Local Government Area, Malam Iliyasu Abdullahi, with immediate effect for alleged violation of ethics and taking the law into his hands.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary of the Emir of Zazzau, Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai.

The emirate council, further directed the District Head of Maigana, Dan Darman Zazzau Alhaji Lawal Zailani, to immediately start  the process of selecting a new Village Head of Awai without further delay.

The statement reads in part: “His Highness Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli presided over the Council meeting today November, 7th 2023, after deliberations on complained brought against the Village head before the emirate Council for action to be taken.

“After intensive deliberations with all stakeholders and upon accepting all complaints leveled against him, the Emirate Council has approved the immediate dismissal  and Termination of appointment of the Village Head, for disregarding laid down Administrative Procedures and Gross Insubordination”.
