Kingsley Chinda voted for APC. Governor’s ticket in Rivers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday declared Kingsley Chinda as its governorship candidate in the 2027 general election in Rivers State.

The chairman of the APC gubernatorial primary election committee, Bitrus Kwamoti, announced the results of the party’s primary election in Port Harcourt.

There were reports earlier on Thursday that Governor Siminilayi Fubara had withdrawn from the APC gubernatorial race.

He said:”I, Kwamoti Bitrus, chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Rivers State Governorship Primary Election to be held today, the 21st of May, 2026.

“The name of the only aspirant is Chinda Ogundu Kingsley, who received a total of 268, 497 votes.

“Ogundu Kinsley, having fulfilled the constitutional requirements and guidelines of the APC and obtained the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primaries and, in return, elected as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for River State.”
