Nigeria’s senior team was held to a 2-2 draw by Poland in an international friendly match in Warsaw, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Nigeria came out flying from the start of the match and were rewarded for their dominance when Moses Simon set up Terem Moffi for the first goal of the match in the 25th minute.
Initially it was flagged for offside but after a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) it was considered a goal. They maintained the lead until the final minutes of the half, when the hosts tied the score.
A series of changes by Nigeria did not see them start the second half as they had at the beginning of the match, but they soon got to work and, after a VAR review, were awarded a penalty which Paul Onuachu masterfully converted from the penalty spot.
With practically the last shot of the match, Poland equalized with a long-range shot that left goalkeeper Maduka Okoye in no man’s land to tie the tie at 2-2.
