Nelfund rejects a report about the wrong care for student loan schemes

Nigeria Education Loan Funds (Nelfund) on Thursday rejected a report about the wrong care for student loan schemes.

The funds react to claims by independent corruption practices and other related violation commissions (ICPC) regarding the misuse of billions of naira which are intended for student loan schemes

In a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communication, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Nelfund described the report as fake and very irresponsible.

This warns any action that is able to damage the integrity of the institution set to provide financial expectations to millions of Nigerians. “

The statement reads: “This is a coordinated distortion of facts that damage public trust, armed wrong information, and threaten the credibility of national interventions that are still in the period of growth.

“The number and number of funding that is currently interpreted in public is taken from the completely different educational financing intervention that preceded the commencement of the Nelfund operation.

“They have no relevance to the current student loan scheme and should not be linked wrong with this institution.”

The funds reiterate their commitment to transparency and cooperation with the Supervisory Committee, including ICPC.

“Nelfund operates the zero human interface, a fully automatic loan system that eliminates opportunities for financial violations. Every application and disbursement is tracked digitally, labeled time, and can be verified.

“Our commitment to transparency and cooperation with supervisory agencies, including ICPC, is total and unshakeable.” We have fully fulfilled every request for information and will continue to enforce the highest standard of public accountability, “the statement added.
