The purpose of the visit was to boost the morale of the team ahead of their crucial encounter with Tunisian opponents, Club Africain, scheduled to take place at the 60,000-capacity Stade de Rades.

Falusi, while urging the Pride of Rivers to secure a victory against Club Africain, emphasized that they are representing Nigeria in Tunisia.

He conveyed, “You also have the country behind you. The flag you are flying is also a Nigeria flag now. It’s not only your state that will be proud of you; Nigeria will also be proud of your victory.”

The Head of Mission’s visit aimed not only to express solidarity but also to ensure the team’s well-being and address logistical concerns.

He emphasized the importance of avoiding issues that could distract the team from their focus on the game.

In response, team captain Nyima Nwagua expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted the players’ joy at the presence of embassy officials upon their arrival at the airport.

He assured Falusi that the team is determined not to let the nation down and is ready for the upcoming challenge.
