Nigerian military reveals plans to attack critical infrastructure

The Nigerian military has uncovered plans for attacks on critical infrastructure in the country by rogue elements.

Director of Defense Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this at a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja.

He said relevant agencies responsible for protecting the country’s critical infrastructure had been notified.

Buba noted that several plans had been thwarted.

He said: “We are aware of some plans to attack some critical infrastructure in the country. Therefore, we have taken steps to prevent such plans.

“Security agencies responsible for securing critical infrastructure and facilities have also been alerted. As a result, some of these plans have failed.”

However, the exact nature of the targeted infrastructure and the group behind the plan have not been made public.
