The Olympic Committee of Nigeria (NOC), under the guidance of President Engur Habu Ahmed Gumel, has extended sincere congratulations with the Senior National Female Football Team – The Super Falcons – on their remarkable victory in the African Nations Cup of the CAF of 2025 (Wafcon).
The message was broadcast in a declaration issued by his public relations official, Tony Nezianya on Sunday 27 July 2025.
In an electrifying final held on July 27 in Rabat, Morocco, the Super Falcons defeated their opponents 3-2 in the regulation time to conquer their tenth continental title, an unprecedented company in African women’s football.
“This fought victory was a magnificent demonstration of talent, teamwork and incrullable determination,” said Engr Gumel. “You have once again shown why you are the pride of our nation and the undisputed queens of African football.”
The Noc praised the resilience and the spirit of the team, observing that their historical result acts as a lighthouse of inspiration for young Nigerians throughout the country.
“Winning this prestigious title for a tenth record is a monumental milestone that reflects decades of commitment, sacrifice and excellence. You have not only made history, but you have also created a legacy that will inspire future generations”, continued the declaration.
The committee stressed that the victory also represents the Olympic ideals of excellence, respect and unity.
“We greet each player, coach and member of the technical and support staff for their dedication and exceptional performance. You brought immense pride and honor to Nigeria, congratulations to our heroic Super Falcons,” added the Noc.
