The actor shared the news in a post on his official Instagram account on Friday, revealing that he completed 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before officially enlisting as a Specialist in the US Army.

He described the achievement as a tribute to his late father and the culmination of months of intense physical and mental training.

“From the start, I have always believed in achievement gained through achievement, which is why I continue to push myself beyond limits,” he wrote.

According to him, the training period tested him in ways he never imagined, involving “tears, fear of failure, endurance, endless days, short nights, exhaustion, rain and hot sun.”

The actor admitted there were times where he doubted himself but remained focused on completing the program.

“There were moments of doubt and times I asked myself, ‘who sent me a sef message’? But I never forgot the finish line,” he said.

Momodu further revealed that the experience changed him completely.

“We trained tirelessly, were torn down and rebuilt. I fell asleep as a civilian and woke up as a soldier,” he wrote, adding that the 10-week program taught him to “find comfort in discomfort.”

The actor revealed that his enlistment carries special emotional meaning as it allows him to continue the family legacy.

“On April 12, 2026, I honored my late father in a historic way. Twenty years after he passed away, I picked up the baton he left with the Nigerian Police and carried it forward by enlisting in the United States Army,” he said.

Momodu announced that he is now officially a Specialist (SPC) JA Momodu of the United States Army, serving with 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10th Battalion, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

He dedicated the milestone to God, his late father, and the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II of the Avyuele Clan in Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area of ​​Edo State.

The actor also thanked the US Army Recruiting Station in Burbank, California, for facilitating his transition, as well as Akeem Ogara who managed his social media accounts during his training.
