Norway beats Ivory Coast 2-1 in dramatic World Cup round of 32 clash, Haaland’s latest winner puts Vikings through

Erling Haaland scored a decisive late goal as Norway defeated Ivory Coast 2-1 in the round of 32 at AT&T Stadium, advancing to the round of 16 where they will face Brazil.

It marked Norway’s first victory in the World Cup knockout stage.

The match was very close between two group runners-up.

Norway took the lead in the 39th minute thanks to a moment of great quality from Antonio Nusa, who scored a sensational goal (assisted by Martin Ødegaard) to put the Scandinavians ahead.

Ivory Coast, known for its offensive style, responded strongly.

Amad Diallo, one of the tournament’s standout players, equalized in the 74th minute with a brilliant goal that many called a candidate for “goal of the tournament.”

His effort gave the Elephants hope and showed the quality of the Manchester United striker.

However, Norwegian star forward Erling Haaland proved the difference, scoring the winning goal in the 86th minute to secure the 2-1 win.

Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland also played a heroic role with crucial late saves, including a standout match-saving one.

For Côte d’Ivoire, the exit marks the end of a competitive campaign, in which they are proud of their performance and Diallo’s heroism.

This result sets up an exciting round of 16 encounter for Norway against powerhouse Brazil, while Ivory Coast returns home with its heads held high after a spirited performance on the world stage.
