“We are particularly excited about our collaboration with the NSCDC team across all 774 local governments and the FCT and are optimistic that through this partnership we will be able to identify early warning signs and indicators of conflict, as well as violent conflict, and take swift and necessary measures to prevent their escalation,” Madaki added.

He also expressed Search for Common Ground’s commitment to train more NSCDC staff on the Early Warning and Rapid Response Mechanism, which he explained will provide staff with the tools and knowledge needed to respond effectively to conflict and contribute to peacebuilding.

In his address, the NSCDC Commanding General, Abubakar Ahmed Audi PhD, mni, OFR, represented by the Deputy Commanding General (DCG) in charge of Administrative Directorate, DCG Adeyinka Fasiu Ayinla, said the relationship is symbiotic as it will benefit both the Corps and Search for Common Ground, but most importantly the Nigerian people.

The NSCDC helmsman expressed satisfaction with the training of more Corps personnel by the SFCG and reiterated his administration’s commitment to training and development for better performance.
