NSF endorses Olojoku for national youth coach position

The Nigerian Scrabble Federation (NSF) has supported the nomination of Hassan Olojoku Abdulrafiu for the position of National Youth Coach, citing his impressive track record in grassroots development and youth excellence.

Olojoku, who currently serves as the federation’s North Central Youth Coordinator and Kwara State Youth Coach, has earned a reputation as one of the most effective youth coaches in the country.

His tenure in Kwara has been marked by sustained dominance in the National Youth Games, where his players have consistently bagged multiple gold medals, reinforcing the state’s status as a powerhouse in youth scrabble.

Beyond the national scene, its athletes have made a significant impression internationally, representing Nigeria at the World Youth Scrabble Championship and achieving podium finishes at the African Youth Scrabble Championship.

These achievements, according to the federation, underline its ability to prepare players capable of competing at the highest level.

Among the notable talents trained under his guidance are Aliu Qudus, Sufyan Boluwatife and Hassan Olamide, all of whom have recorded notable successes in national, continental and international competitions.

In addition to his duties at the federation, Olojoku is the founder of the Scholars Scrabble Academy, an initiative widely credited for strengthening grassroots participation and discovering emerging talent in the sport.

The NSF also confirmed that regional youth coaches, including:

* Ben Quickpen – South South

* Okagbue Ajuluchukwu – Southeast

* Frama Daniel – Northeast

* Maxwell Chima – Northwest

* Joseph Okere – South West

They will continue to work together with the National Youth Coach to ensure balanced development in all regions.

With a proven system for talent identification, structured training and competitive success, the federation believes that Olojoku’s appointment would further strengthen Nigeria’s position in youth wrestling on both the continental and global stage.
