Petition Court Election of the Governor of State Ondo has improved June 4 for an assessment in the petition that challenged the election of the governor last year in the state.
The three -person panel led by Judge Benson Ogbu, announced the date on Saturday at Akure after all parties adopted their last written address.
Other court members were judges Imelda Stage and Justice Sikka Duarabo.
Five applicants challenged the results of the November 16 2024 elections, on the grounds of non-compliance with the Election Law.
The applicants are: Action Alliance and its candidates, Mr. Abdullahi Olowokere; and Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidates, Head of Bamidle Akingboye.
Others are – Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Agboola Ajayi; Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its candidates, Kolawole Ogunfeyimi; and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its candidate, Adeyemi Nejo.
The Independent National Election Commission (Inec) has stated that the Candidate of all Progressive Congress (APC), Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the winner of the election after he surveyed 366,781 votes to defeat Ajayi who scored 117,845 votes.
