Cole Palmer has set a new club record in Sunday’s 4-2 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Palmer has established himself as a key part of the Chelsea side following his arrival from Manchester City in the summer.
He has started 15 of his 19 Premier League appearances for the Blues, including Sunday’s clash with Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old got Mauricio Pochettino’s side off to the perfect start, finding the net in the 19th minute to score in a third consecutive home game in all competitions.
Palmer latched onto Moise Caicedo’s inch-perfect pass to slide the ball into the bottom corner with his weaker right foot.
Not only did Palmer put his side into the lead, but he also broke a club record with his 10th goal of league goal of the 2023-24 season.
He became the first Chelsea player aged 21 or under to register double figures for goals in a single Premier League campaign.
Unfortunately for Palmer his early strike mattered for very little, as Wolves fought back to claim all three points in West London.
