PDP leaders Anambra wants Peter Obi to return to the party

The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) in the State of Anambra on Thursday submitted an appeal to former Governor Peter Obi to return to the party.

Obi threw PDP for the Labor Party in front of the Presidential President’s president in 2022.

He represented LP in the 2023 presidential election and finished in third place with eight million votes.

The PDP made a call in the communication issued at the end of the meeting which was enlarged from the State Executive Committee (SEC) to review the party’s condition and map the road forward in Awka, the Capital of the State.

The party in the Communike signed by its chairman in the state, Chidi Chidebe, said the alliance with political formation that was not ideologically compatible, with a coalition guise, was likely not to produce the desired success.

It reads: “The Committee expands the invitation to be open to all PDP members who are disadvantaged and former PDP in Anambra, especially our respected former Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, to return home and reunite with PDP which is now rejuvenated and restructuring.

“We will be happy to welcome our brothers and sisters back to join us in a collective search for better Nigeria.”

The party urged the Anambra people to support its governor candidate, Jude Ezenwafor, and his partner, Mr. Francis Okeke, in the November 8 election.

This also urged the Independent National Election Commission (Inec) to ensure credible elections in the state.

“We ask the good people from Anambra to remain steadfast in their historic support for PDP and exit en masse to choose our candidates,” added the Communike.
