Peter Obi in closed door meeting with ‘struggling’ Bauchi governor, Mohammed

Presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Peter Obi on Thursday held a meeting with Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed.

Obi, who is the Labor Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, was at the Presidential Lounge of Government House, Bauchi for the meeting.

Although the agenda of the meeting was kept secret at the time of this report, there is speculation that it will center on political alignments ahead of the upcoming elections.

But both leaders are expected to brief journalists at the end of the meeting.

Mohammed, who is the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum, on March 31 revealed that the target of his defection was the ADC, a move rejected by stakeholders in the party in the state.

However, the governor’s political position seems uncertain because he is having difficulty choosing the party of his choice in the upcoming election.

In his bid to find a base, he recently hosted the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, along with Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on April 1 at the Government House.
