Pinnick: I had a warm relationship with Keshi

Former President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has revealed that he had a warm, respectful and personal relationship with the late Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.

Pinnick maintained that they shared a good bond and noted that he was the first person to arrive at Keshi’s house after the coach died in 2016.

speaking in Sunday Oliseh YouTube ChannelPinnick insisted that his management completely liquidated all of Keshi’s financial claims and did not owe him any money.

He also stated that he has nothing to apologize for regarding how Keshi’s tenure or the national team was handled during his time at the helm of the NFF.

No apologies

“There is no way I would have apologized to Keshi. Keshi, may God rest his soul, was an icon.

“We had a very warm relationship until he passed away, and when he passed away, we were the first people to go.

“But there’s no way I would have apologized to Keshi because we didn’t do anything wrong. We did what we did according to the report,” he said.

Stephen Keshi, who led Nigeria to the 2013 African Cup of Nations title, died in 2016 at the age of 54.
