A delegation from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will soon be in London to meet with the representative and family of Arsenal’s teenagers, Ethan Nwaneri.
The objective of his meeting will be to persuade the 18 -year -old to change his nationality to the national senior team of Nigeria. He made his debut in U21 for England last week, but remains eligible to Nigeria at a higher level.
Qualified as one of the brightest perspectives of English football, the NFF is interested in trying the waters for its international future despite knowing that its possibilities are thin.
However, the former defender of Nigeria, Sam Sodje, has sounded a warning note to the delegation: “It is a fantastic talent. I saw him play against Brentford, and was very impressed.
“However, convincing him to choose Nigeria on England will be a challenge. The English FA is also interested in maintaining it, and they will not let such a talent escape easily. But in football, you never know.”
