Security adviser Makinde resigned to pursue his ambition to become governor

The Special Adviser on Security to the Governor of Oyo State, Mr Fatai Owoseni, has resigned from his post.

Owoseni, who also served as the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF), announced his resignation in a letter dated May 7 addressed to the governor through the office of the Chief of Staff.

The former Lagos Police Commissioner said his resignation would be effective immediately and thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve the state.

“I convey my greetings and wish to humbly inform Your Excellency of my decision to resign from my position as Special Adviser on Security and Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF),” the former CP wrote.

“I am also willing to provide professional insight or opinion regarding any issues relating to my management or other security issues.

“I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, for the opportunity to serve our state in my humble capacity.

“May the Almighty God continue to bless you with good health and Divine guidance to take Oyo State to greater heights.”

Owoseni is one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates vying for the governorship ahead of the 2027 elections.
