Dangote Industries Limited is collaborating with the parties concerned in the economy to grow micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) throughout Nigeria, said the senior consultant of the president of the Dongote group, Fatima Wali-Absurrahman.
Speaking at the Special Day Dangote at the 2025 exhibition of Nasarawa in Lafia, he said that the participation of the company and the partnership with the Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industriarists (Nassi), the chapter of the state of Nasarawa, will help create awareness and will resize small businesses.
The Senior consultant, represented by the Hon. Dr. Shuaibu Abdullahi, head of the connection of the company’s National Assembly, said that Dangote Group will continue to collaborate with government and private sectors to develop small businesses.
He said: “I am pleased to inform you that, in line with the theme of this year’s fair, the Aliko Dangote Foundation and the Bank of Industry (Boi) had inserted a memorandum of understanding (Mou) and set up a fund of 5 billion n.
“This initiative aimed to create at least one million direct jobs by providing financial support to entrepreneurs engaged in production, agro-processing and merchandising of goods made entirely of Nigeria”.
He added that the memorandum of understanding, which benefited the micro -enterprises included: cassava processors, aluminum craftsmen, poultry farms, calabash carving groups, small merchants, cattle farming groups, vegetable sellers, market women and craftsmen, among others.
He said that as part of his support for small and medium -sized enterprises (MSME) in Nigeria, the company had supported Jakura Marble Industry Ltd (JMIL) in electrification.
He added that in line with the company’s commitment to support small businesses, agriculture and the creation of jobs in Nigeria, Dangote Fertilizer Limited had started a complete training program aimed at over a million farmers across the country.
“This program, an integral part of our agricultural extension services, includes spots demonstrations, result demonstrations, field demonstrations and soil champions collections.
“Training is designed to educate farmers on the best practices in the application of fertilizers, with the aim of improving crops and promoting sustainable agriculture techniques. By providing practical demonstrations and soil analysis, we are committed to enhancing farmers with the knowledge and tools necessary to improve their productivity and their tests.
“This program shows our dedication to the promotion of agricultural development and economic growth in Nigeria.”
According to her, the support of the company to “promote economic development through the industrialization of mineral and agricultural cottages” is numerous.
“I can also inform this esteemed public that our sponsorship of numerous fairs, including this organized by the Nigerian association of industrialists on a small scale (Nassi), is a key component of our commitment to promote the growth of small businesses throughout Nigeria.
“By supporting this fair, we aim to provide micro, small and medium (MSME) platforms to show their products, network with potential partners and access new markets, thus contributing to the economic development of the nation.
“As a company, we are therefore joining Nassi and Naccima to ask the interested parties of the public and private sector to give priority to MSME in Nigeria. This is the key to our industrialization effort in Nigeria.”
According to her, some of the strategic corporate units participating in the Dongote Group are: Dangote Fertilizer Limited (DFL), Dangote Peugeot Automobili Nigeria Limited (DPAN), Dangote Sinotruck, Refinery Sugar Dangote (DSR), Dangote Salt (hide) and Cement Plc damage.
