The City Boy Movement appoints Balami as a member of the executive council, national director with special assignment

The City Boy Movement (CBM) has appointed aviation entrepreneur and political mobiliser, Isaac Balami, as a member of its organisation’s executive board and national director for special duties.

Balami, who recently left the Obidient Movement, has been actively mobilizing support groups and political associates towards the All Progressives Congress (APC), with indications of a broader political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His letter of appointment was formally handed over to him by the Director General of the City Boy Movement, the Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, and the National Secretary, Hon. Tosin Odufuwa, alongside other council members.

The development was also confirmed by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Executive Council is the highest decision-making body of the City Boy Movement and is responsible for providing strategic direction and overseeing ongoing activities.

Balami’s inclusion on the council is seen as significant by supporters due to his growing influence among young political and advocacy groups across the country.

His coming on board is also expected to give a boost to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 election campaign mobilization in the Northern and Central Belt, especially with Balami’s growing network of support groups and political associates in the regions.

He is also described by members as the first Christian from northern Nigeria to serve on the council, a development they say would strengthen the representation of diverse ethnic, religious and regional interests within the movement.

The appointment comes in the context of Balami’s increasing political activities following his alleged departure from the Obidient Movement.

He has steered several advocacy groups and political platforms towards the APC in recent months, as part of preparations for what has been described as a broader national political crossover.

The CBM has also appointed to its board of directors Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari, son of former governor of Zamfara state and director general of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council, governor and senator Abdul’aziz Yari.

The latest appointments are expected to further strengthen the movement’s political structure and broaden its reach among young Nigerians and political support groups ahead of the 2027 elections.

Balami, who has built a profile in the Nigerian aviation sector, has in recent years combined his professional activities with youth mobilisation, political advocacy and support for political movements. He was deputy campaign director for organizing the 2023 Obi/Datti campaign.

His latest role is expected to place him at the center of the CBM’s efforts to coordinate political mobilization and expand its network across different regions of the country.
