The criminals who thought the travelers as terrorists were reported to go down to them and in the mass attack, 12 of them, including women and children were killed brutally while several others suffered severe injuries and their vehicles were burned to ashes.

Mutfwang, who visited the tragic scene and the survivors at the hospital, expressed sadness and described the actions of the masses as cursed and can be avoided.
“Today is a tragic day for us in the highlands. I have never imagined such unreasonable violent acts of violence can occur in our border, especially given our praiseworthy efforts in this community and neighboring districts that have consistently rose to support security agents in defending themselves against criminal attacks,” Mutfwang said at the disaster scene.

He stressed that a prolonged attack on the highlands did not justify unreasonable actions against innocent passengers.
“It is very disappointing that the same young man who has shown courage and patriotism will turn around and bring the law to their own hands.
“This is completely unacceptable, and the government will not sweep under the carpet. We work to build a plateau that welcomes everyone and is friendly to visitors. We have educated our young people about the importance of leaving free ways on all roads throughout the state, and this incident has come to us as a rough surprise.”
Continued, Governor Mutfwang stated:
“I want to convince Nigerians that the highlands remain a safe place for all travelers. I have talked with my colleagues, the executive governor of the Kaduna state, to give him direction about this unfavorable incident.
“I have also reached His Majesty, Emir Zazzau, to express my sincere condolences for this tragic loss of life. In the spirit of solidarity, we will send a high-level delegation to sympathize with the government and Kaduna people and also Zazzau Emirate.
The governor also gave a sincere condolence to the grieving families and the government and the people of the State of Kaduna, emphasized that such acts of violence did not have a place in a civilized society.
