The Nigerian government launched an online platform to streamline citizenship, business services

The Nigerian Ministry of Interior has launched a new digital platform to manage citizenship and business applications.

The platform, which was announced on Saturday by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, designed to simplify the application process for individuals and company entities, significantly reduces the completion time and increases the overall shipping of services.

“This innovation reflects our commitment to build a more efficient, transparent and safe system for citizenship administration,” Ajani said. “With this new platform, users can expect a better experience that is in harmony with the best global practice in digital public services.”

Can be accessed through interior.gov.ng And Candb.interior.gov.ngThis portal offers a centralized process for citizenship and business related services. Stakeholders can also ask questions or find support via email at [email protected].

This launch is part of a broader reform agenda fought for by the ministry to digitize public services and strengthen Nigerian administrative infrastructure.

This development follows other major initiatives, including the introduction of landing and outgoing cards that have been previously filled in international visitors, announced by the Minister of the Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo earlier this year. The card is part of a larger strategy to harmonize immigration data and increase national security.

According to Tupi-ojo, the government works to integrate the immigration process with a real time verification system from the interpol, a criminal record database, and a background inspection institution. This, he said, would eliminate invalid agreement and increase the integrity of migration management in Nigeria.
