The police arrested 3 suspected kidnappers who were identified by the victim at the market

Nemesis succeeded in apprehending three suspected kidnappers in Edo State when they were arrested after one of the victims identified them at a market in Jattu market, in Etsako West Local Government Area of ​​Edo State.

A security operations team was sent to retrieve them after the information was provided.

The suspects were arrested by a joint team of the Edo State Police Command, Jattu Division and the State security outfit codenamed, Edo State Security Corps (ESSC).

This was disclosed by the Command Spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, to journalists in Benin City.

Ikoedem named the suspects Nura Dahiru, 22, Ibrahim Yakubu, 25, and Abubakar Inusa, 23.

He said the two suspects were identified by one of them as Mrs. Ibrahim Jemila, and another member of the kidnapping gang responsible for their abduction.

According to him, on May 15, 2026, at around 17.50, the Jattu Divisional Police Chief received reliable information that one of the suspected kidnappers, Ibrahim Jemila ‘f’, who was kidnapped and later released on May 13, 2026, was seen at Jattu Market.

“Acting quickly on the information, officers of the Division moved in collaboration with members of the Edo State Security Corps to the scene of the arrest of the three suspects.

“During the investigation process, two suspects, Nura Dahiru and Ibrahim Yakubu, were positively identified by Jemila and another person as members of the kidnapping gang responsible for their kidnapping,” he said.

Ikoedem described the arrest as another breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state carried out by the Command.
