The troops foil the ISWAP infiltration into Bitta and inflict heavy casualties on the terrorists

The troops of the Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation Hadin Kai, have foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt in Bitta, Borno State, dealing another blow to the fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The failed attack occurred when ISWAP terrorists attempted to infiltrate a military position in Sector 1 in what appeared to be a desperate attempt to regain momentum after recent failures on the battlefield.

However, according to military sources, the vigilant troops had anticipated the move and prepared a well-coordinated offensive-defensive strategy.

As the terrorists advanced towards the troop position, the soldiers launched coordinated looting actions that disrupted the attackers’ formation and simultaneously maneuvered to block their retreat routes. The insurgents encountered overwhelming resistance and superior firepower, forcing them into a disorderly retreat after suffering significant casualties.

Military authorities said the encounter represents the third major setback for the terrorists in 24 hours, after earlier failed attacks on Banki and Azir Bridge.

The series of defeats underlines the continued operational pressure exerted by Operation Hadin Kai troops in the northeastern theater, which has significantly limited the terrorists’ ability to regroup or carry out coordinated offensives.

The troops were said to have maintained control of all strategic positions while continuing to dominate the operational environment through sustained offensive operations and strong tactical coordination.

The military high command praised the troops for their gallantry and resilience, urging them to maintain operational momentum in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the region.

The statement was made by Operation Hadin Kai Media Information Officer Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
