President Bola Tinubu on Thursday evening held a security meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, consisting of the entire military command, intelligence chiefs and key security advisors.
Also present at the meeting was the Special Adviser on Internal Security, Major General Adeyinka Famadewa (ret.), whom he appointed in May.
The Presidency has not made an official statement regarding the agenda or outcome of the meeting, but sources said the meeting discussed a comprehensive review of the security situation in the country as well as in several areas of operation.

The private engagement, which lasted more than two hours, was announced by the State House in a photo released Thursday.
Present were the National Security Advisor, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Defense, General Christopher Musa (retired); Chief of Defense Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Waidi Isa; and Head of Defense Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Undiandeye.
Also present were the Director General of the Department of State Services Adeola Ajayi; Director General of the National Intelligence Service, Mohammed Mohammed; Special Advisor to the President for Internal Security, Major General Adeyinka Famadewa (ret.); and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as well as representatives of other security agencies.
