Troops rescue kidnapped woman, recover N8m ransom in Plateau

Troops of the Joint Task Force, ‘Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF-OPEO)” have rescued a kidnapped woman and recovered the ransom paid by the family in Plateau State.

This was stated by JTF-OPEO Media Officer, Polycarp Oteh, in his statement, Monday, in Jos.

Oteh said the victims were rescued on Saturday in a coordinated operation in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of ​​the state.

”He was previously kidnapped in Bauna Shendam LGA community on April 19.

“The troops, acting on intelligence reports, launched the operation. Through rigorous intelligence gathering and interrogation of the arrested suspects who confessed to the crime, the troops were able to identify the location of the victim in Padam Forest in Qua’an Pan LGA.

“The victim has been reunited with his family after a thorough medical examination. N8 million ransom money has been handed over to the family,” the spokesperson said.

Oteh said troops are currently carrying out operations at the kidnappers’ hideouts in Qua’an Pan and Shendam LGAs to identify and arrest other members of the syndicate.
