Nationwide League One (NLO) has announced a one-week adjustment to the start date of the 2026 NLO Cup, with the tournament now starting on Saturday 17 October 2026.
The competition was initially scheduled to begin on Saturday, October 10, but the NLO Secretariat said the adjustment became necessary to allow for additional logistical preparations, continued maintenance work at some designated venues and the completion of registration and other administrative requirements by participating clubs.
In a revised notification sent to all participating clubs, the Secretariat explained that the extension was made in the general interest of the competition and is aimed at ensuring that all necessary arrangements are concluded before the tournament.
The NLO further confirmed that official matches will be published no later than Tuesday 13 October 2026, allowing clubs sufficient time to make the necessary preparations for their respective matches.
The Secretariat acknowledged that the change in date may have an impact on the logistical arrangements, travel plans and technical preparations of participating clubs.
However, he stressed that the decision was made to ensure a smooth, competitive and successful tournament for all stakeholders.
The NLO therefore appealed to all participating clubs to continue to cooperate and continue their preparations towards the new start date.
The NLO Cup 2026 is expected to further strengthen the league’s commitment to providing competitive opportunities for clubs and emerging talent, while contributing to the continued growth and development of grassroots football across the country.
