TUESDAY TALENT 👀

You know a play is good when you stop laughing because… this is literally your life. 😂 That’s what makes Nigerian comedy so successful. It’s not just jokes. It’s about recognition: your mother’s voice, your uncle’s logic, wahala friendship, relationships, the hustle and bustle and all the everyday chaos that we somehow survive. This week’s Super Seven are doing exactly that in their own way: 🔥 Akwa Man turns his Akwa Ibom and Ibibio roots into comedy and made “Did I Just Hear Muah?” A viral moment. 😂 Folagade Banks turned Mama Deola into one of the most recognizable Nigerian characters, from pandemic Instagram sketches to major film productions. 🏠 Samuel Banks took Arike Preorder from a cross-dressing alter ego to a large online following, a car and a mansion in Lagos in 2025, while documenting the ups and downs along the way. 🧪 Gilmore went from studying Chemistry at UNILAG to dominating impressions, multiple characters and more than a million followers. 🎒 Justin Ug turned Nigerian High School Memories into High School Chronicles, then hosted Davido’s daughter’s birthday and launched The Brobants Show with Ini Cash. 📿 Dezny made his Edo roots, accent, beads, mustache and signature walk part of his comedy, while proving that branded content can be truly entertaining with inDrive’s “Expensive Confusion.” 🎬 Kingsley OM, a first-generation graduate, proves that you don’t need tricks when you know how to find the comedy in ordinary Nigerian life. Different characters. Different styles. Different stories. But the same secret? They make us recognize ourselves. A great play doesn’t just make you laugh at someone else’s life. It makes you laugh at yourself.
