The West African Inspection Board (WAEC) has been fired as wrong and misleading the viral report which claims that the 2025 edition of the West African senior school certificate (Wassce) has been canceled.
Reacting to the claim, WAEC Public Relations Officer, Moyo Adesina, described a statement that was allegedly issued by the Federal Education Ministry – as entirely fictitious and unfounded.
“The statement is not only fictitious, but soft from the imagination of such news items suppliers,” Adesina told reporters.
He confirmed that the current examination script was being completed and that the results would be released to the public on time.

“The marking of the exam script is being concluded and the results will be published soon,” he said.
Adesina assured that WAEC would issue an official statement in the future to further clarify the situation and urge the public to ignore the wrong information circulating.
“We ask the public to ignore it,” he said.
WAEC emphasizes his commitment to uphold the integrity of the inspection process and give timely results to candidates throughout West Africa.
