“We are proud to make history for Nigeria”: Babajide and Oladipo react after winning the Serie A title with Roma

Super Falcons stars Rinsola Babajide and Shukurat Oladipo have expressed their excitement after helping AS Roma Women win the Serie A Femminile title.

The Nigerian duo made history by becoming the first Nigerian internationals from the same club to lift the Italian top-flight women’s league title together.

Roma secured the championship after a dominant campaign, and both players contributed to the club’s successful season in Italy.

Reacting to the achievement, Rinsola Babajide described the title win as a moment of pride and excitement in his football career.

> “Winning the Serie A title with Roma is an incredible feeling for me. It is something every player dreams of and I am very grateful to be part of this special team,” said Babajide.

The attacking winger also expressed his pride in making history with a Nigerian teammate.

“To achieve this with another Nigerian sister makes it even more special. We are proud to represent Nigeria and show what Nigerian players can do on the big stage,” she added.

Defender Shukurat Oladipo also shared her excitement after lifting the trophy in Italy.

“This is a great moment for me and my family. Playing for a great club like Roma and winning the league is a blessing. I have learned a lot this season and I am grateful for the opportunity,” said Oladipo.

The young center back also thanked the fans, coaches and teammates for their support throughout the campaign.

“The support from the club and the fans has been incredible. We worked hard for this title and I am happy that our efforts have paid off,” he added.

This historic achievement once again highlights the growing impact of Nigerian players on European women’s football and further strengthens Nigeria’s reputation as a powerhouse in women’s football.

For Babajide and Oladipo, the Serie A triumph represents not only a title, but a proud moment of Nigerian excellence on one of Europe’s most important football stages.
