We will only supply what we have – Oil traders – TrendyNewsReporters

Nigerian oil traders attribute the country’s current fuel shortage to persistent logistical difficulties.

The chairman of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association, PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry, said this in an interview with Channels Television. According to him, oil sellers were currently limited by supply and could only distribute what they had.

“I think that until we solve our supply problems efficiently and abundantly, we will not be able to get out of this vicious cycle.

I believe you heard the NNPC communications director, who explained that the issues at stake are still logistical in nature.

So, until they fix the problem, we might as well just manage the little they give us and distribute it among our members.

NNPCL is trying its best to introduce the products little by little and we can only supply what we have.”
On what the logistical challenges were, he said

“The logistical problem is the transfer from ship to ship. Until the ship receives the products, it cannot deliver them to any of the depots. And until the depots do not have the products, we as retailers cannot have access to the products either,”
