100 days until the 2027 elections: INEC sets October 6 for the global press conference

Abuja (Core Reporters) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will hold a global press conference and national stakeholders meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 to mark 100 days since the 2027 general elections.
The conference is expected to provide updates on the Commission’s preparations for elections, including the voter register, candidate nominations, logistics and other crucial measures aimed at ensuring the integrity and credibility of the electoral process.
The president of INEC, Prof., will speak at the event. Joash Amupitan, (SAN) together with other key stakeholders involved in the electoral process.
The national stakeholders’ meeting is part of the Commission’s efforts to promote transparency, proactive public communication and collaboration between key actors in the electoral ecosystem ahead of the 2027 elections.
Participants are expected to include leaders of political parties, security agencies of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), members of the diplomatic corps, development partners, civil society organisations, election observer groups, disability rights advocates, religious and traditional leaders, youth organizations and media executives.
The event is scheduled for 10am at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Center (BAT-ICC), Abuja.
Participation is strictly by invitation.
The proceedings will be broadcast live on the main national television networks and streamed on INEC’s official social platforms.
Accredited media representatives and invited guests are required to present their invitation cards or accreditation badges at designated security checkpoints.
