No fewer than sixteen governors of the All Progressives Congress have reaffirmed their support for Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, quashing reports of a change in leadership.
The governors met behind closed doors at the Imo State Governors Lodge in Abuja on Friday and passed a vote of confidence in Uzodimma and his deputy, Kaduna Governor Uba Sani.
The move followed reports that some APC governors had appointed Enugu Governor Peter Mbah as the new leader of the forum on Thursday evening.
The governors of Ondo, Gombe, Kaduna, Taraba, Edo, Sokoto, Ebonyi, Borno, Lagos, Kogi, Kano, Yobe, Kebbi, Benue and Jigawa physically participated. Nasarawa State was represented by its deputy governor.
Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas attended briefly before departing after a brief meeting with the host governor.

Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris moved the motion for the vote of confidence, saying Uzodimma and Sani remain the president and vice-president of the forum.
The show of support comes as tensions over leadership and strategy within the PGF emerge ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
