2027 elections: Asabe Vilita-Bashir accepts primary result and calls for calm in Borno federal constituency

The immediate past Director General, Maryam Babangide National Centre for Women Development, Hon Asabe Vilita Bashir, has accepted the outcome of Saturday's All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Chibok, Damboa, and Gwoza Federal Constituency, Borno state.

The former member House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019 during the 8th National Assembly, made this known in a letter addressed to her constituents and supporters, late Saturday night."My dear people of Chibok, Damboa, and Gwoza Federal Constituency, I write to you today with a heavy heart, yet with deep gratitude, humility, and total submission to the WILL of Almighty Allah (SWT)."First and foremost, I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you who stood firmly with me throughout this political journey.

To the youths, women, elders, stakeholders of Chibok, Damboa, and Gwoza, supporters, and well-wishers who believed in my vision and supported me with prayers, encouragement, sacrifices, and unwavering loyalty, I remain deeply grateful. Your love and confidence in me will forever remain one of the greatest honors of my life."This struggle was never about personal ambition.

It was driven by genuine love for our people and a sincere desire to serve and uplift our constituency with fairness, compassion, and dedication. Together, we fought a difficult but noble battle with courage, dignity, and hope," the letter read in part.

The aspirant, who had also served in the Borno State House of Assembly, and held positions in government in the state, further stated, "However, it is important to acknowledge the reality before us.

The decision that has been taken reflects the interest and position of the political establishment, rather than the collective wishes and expectations of the ordinary people at the grassroots.

Despite the overwhelming support and acceptance I received from the people, some battles remain difficult to win without the backing of those in authority."Nevertheless, as believers, we understand that power belongs to Allah alone.

Whatever He has destined will surely come to pass at its appointed time. Human plans can never override the WILL of the Almighty. Although this outcome is not what we hoped for, we accept it in good faith, with patience, prayers, and complete trust in Allah’s wisdom."I therefore appeal to all my supporters and followers to remain calm, peaceful, law-abiding, and prayerful. Let us not allow disappointment to divide us or weaken the unity we have built over time.

Our struggle has always been guided by peace, respect, and a genuine desire for the progress of our people."Please remain steadfast and hopeful. Service to humanity does not begin or end with politics, and my commitment to the development, welfare, and future of our people remains sacrosanct.

"She prayed for her supporters stating: "May Almighty Allah bless and reward each and every one of you abundantly for standing by me. May He grant peace, unity, and progress to Chibok, Damboa, Gwoza, and Borno State at large."
