2027: Ukelle Patriotic Front supports Senator Jarigbe, Offiono

… Warns against enforcement in Cross River North

The Ukelle Patriotic Front (UPF), a leading socio-political group in the Cross River North Senatorial District, has written an open letter to Governor Bassey Out, declaring its full support for Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe and Hon. Godwin Offiono as the only acceptable candidate for the area in future elections.

In the letter signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Kingsley Eji, the UPF said the approval is based on the “visible, verifiable and unprecedented impact” of the legislators in empowering voters and driving development in the five LGAs of the district.

“Senator Jarigbe and Honorable Offiono have restored dignity to our people. We have seen the light through these two leaders. We will not return to the darkness.” They said.

The group listed Senator Jarigbe’s record as including hundreds of subsidized federal jobs for youths, scholarships for indigent students, multi-million naira grants to SMEs and construction of roads, schools, health centers and solar wells in communities “abandoned for decades”.

Hon Offiono was credited with rehabilitating schools, donating transformers, distributing agricultural inputs to thousands of farmers and organizing free medical awareness activities which reached over 10,000 voters in Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency

“Other potential candidates lack the political will, track record and grassroots acceptance to move this area forward. Any attempt to replace them will be thwarted at the ballot box.”

The UPF warned that Cross River North, with its “enormous voting power and political consciousness”, will reject any candidate imposed against the will of the people. “The era of using our area as a political bargaining chip is over,” the group said.

The statement urges Governor Otu to respect the voice of the people and support the continuity of both legislators, adding that the UPF will mobilize all towns, clans and youth groups to “defend the mandate” of Jarigbe and Offiono.

“Voting remains the masses’ definitive weapon against impositions,” said comrade Eji.
