The group called on northerners to avoid planned #EndBadGovernance protests

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Social Media Forum in the North West on Saturday urged Northerners to shun planned nationwide protests against the current economic situation in the country.

Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Ahmed Rufa’i-Gumel, made the call at a press conference in Kano.

He reminded northerners that the protests were destroying the peaceful coexistence of many countries.

The #EndBadGovernance protests brought together by a group of Nigerians to express their dissatisfaction with the government over hunger and other socio-economic issues in the country will begin on August 1.

Rufai-Gumel said: “Some countries are now under military rule or in complete disrepair as a result of the protests.

“The results of the investigation show that our leaders patiently took action day and night to make sure everything was okay.

“Dear northerners, say no to protests. They are not the way out. Protests lead to violence, social unrest, starvation, arson, death and internal war.

“Nigeria is the only place we can truly call our own. Give the government more time to fix things.”

He appealed to the youth to stop carrying out actions that could disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in this country.

Rufa’i-Gumel ordered the Federal Government to accelerate the development of social infrastructure to address the ongoing difficulties in the country.
