Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has eased the curfew imposed in the state.
On Thursday, the governor imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state after #EndBadGovernance protests turned violent.
The state’s Information Commissioner, Baba Dantiye, confirmed the development to reporters on Saturday.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
Dantiye said: “After reviewing the curfew and being concerned about the situation experienced by the people due to the curfew, His Majesty has ordered that the curfew be relaxed starting at 8:00 a.m., tomorrow Sunday, August 4, until 2:00 p.m.
The government is concerned about the safety of lives and property. That is why the curfew is enforced for 24 hours.
“This will continue, and the situation will continue to be reviewed. When the security situation improves, the decision will be reviewed further. I hope the public will comply.”
