Kaduna government lifts curfew imposed in Zaria

The Kaduna State Government has lifted the curfew imposed in Kaduna and Zaria cities.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna.

The government imposed a curfew in both cities following the destruction and looting of property during last week’s #EndBadGovernance protests in the state.

Aruwan said: β€œAfter a thorough review of the security situation in Kaduna and Zaria cities and their environs, the State Security Council under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani has completely lifted the curfew that was in effect from 6pm to 8am.

β€œThe Security Council also warns that any procession or gathering should be verified with the relevant agencies to avoid any breach of law and order, and for the safety of the general public as a whole.”
