The Kaduna State Government has lifted the curfew imposed in Kaduna and Zaria cities.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna.
The government imposed a curfew in both cities following the destruction and looting of property during last week’s #EndBadGovernance protests in the state.
Aruwan said: βAfter a thorough review of the security situation in Kaduna and Zaria cities and their environs, the State Security Council under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani has completely lifted the curfew that was in effect from 6pm to 8am.

βThe lifting of the curfew is effective immediately, starting today, Tuesday, August 13.
βThe State Security Council during a comprehensive assessment held last night unanimously recommended the lifting of the curfew and reiterated its commitment to the security and safety of citizens in Kaduna State.
βThe Security Council also warns that any procession or gathering should be verified with the relevant agencies to avoid any breach of law and order, and for the safety of the general public as a whole.β
